Comebacks

Siento que tengo siglos sin actualizar el blog, pero la verdad me parece que uno no debe hacer las cosas forzadas o sin ganas porque no salen bien, y siendo 100% sincera con ustedes, no me he sentido muy animada a postear cosillas. Esto lleva ya un tiempo, y siendo este un proyecto que siento que merece mi cuidado y respeto, sentí la necesidad de reflexionar al respecto e intentar entender por qué me está pasando esto. Estoy en un momento de reorganización en mi vida, en el cual estoy replanteándome ciertos aspectos fundamentales de mi carrera, evaluando caminos a tomar e intentando iniciar nuevos proyectos. Estos cambios son bastante importantes y quisiera acompañarlos con un “refrescamiento” del blog, aunque aún no tengo muy claro cómo lo voy a hacer. Solamente quería pasar a contarles un poco sobre la situación y ponerlos al tanto de algunas tonterías en las que he estado trabajando en este periodo. Estoy mucho más enfocada en el tema del dibujo, que si bien para mí es un hobby, sigue siendo un medio de expresión y “desahogo”, así que quería compartir con ustedes algunas de las cosas que he hecho.

También, aprovecho de dejarles este video que debí postear en MAYÚSCULAS Y CON FUEGOS ARTIFICIALES el día que salió hace un par de semanas…Para ponerlo sencillo, involucra a Beck versionando a Bowie con una orquesta gigantesca para crear una experiencia de 360 grados que publicarán más adelante. Es sencillamente impresionante.

Espero que todos estén muy bien y les deseo un feliz inicio de semana. Espero que puedan leerme con un poco más de claridad (y menos excusas) en poco tiempo.

I feel that I have not updated the blog in ages, but I believe that you shouldn’t force things or do them without wanting to, they just don’t come out right that way and to be 100% honest with you, I haven’t been in the mood of posting things. This is something that’s been going on for a while now, and since this is a project that I think deserves my care and respect, I felt the need to start thinking about the reasons why this was happening and trying to understand them. I’m in a moment of my life where I’m reorganizing things, working on some major career changes, evaluating which roads I’m going to take and starting new projects. Since these are pretty important decisions, I wanted to follow them with a “refreshing” of the blog, but I still haven’t figured out how I’m going to do it. I just wanted to share with you a little bit about what’s been going on and make you aware of some silly things that I’ve been working on lately. I’ve been much more focused on my drawings, they’re a hobby for me but they also are a way of expressing myself.

I also wanted to share this awesome video that I should have posted in CAPSLOCK AND WITH FIREWORKS the day that it came out a couple of weeks ago. To make it simple: it involves Beck versioning Bowie with a huge orchestra to create a 360 degrees experience that will come out soon. It’s just uh-mazing.

Music Monday: Alt-J

¡Hola a todos! Ha pasado ya poco más de una semana desde que me operé de las cordales. Ya estoy bastante mejor, pero sigo un poco hinchada, así que esperare algo más de tiempo antes de postear fotitos.

Por lo pronto quiero compartir con ustedes un grupo con el que he estado muy pegada últimamente. Se llaman Alt-J y su disco An Awesome Wave es indudablemente una oleada de excelente música. Ya debo haberles comentado anteriormente que me obsesiono muy fácil con ciertas cosas y este disco no ha sido una excepción.

El día de mañana vuelo de regreso a Buenos Aires, una vez que me  organice nuevamente allá, nos leeremos J

Hey everyone! It’s been a little over a week since I had my wisdom teeth removed and I’m doing a lot better. However, I’m still a bit swollen, so I’ll wait another while before posting pictures.

Today I wanted to recommend you an awesome band that I’ve been listening to A LOT lately. Their name is Alt-J and their album An Awesome Wave is indeed a wonderful flood of great music. I probably told you already that I obsess easily with certain things and this record was not an exception.

I’m flying back to Buenos Aires tomorrow, once I get settled there again we’ll be reading each other J

Of wisdom, teeth & stuff

¡Hola a todos! Pues bueno, les escribo para contarles un poco de mi situación de ausencia en el blog. Como les comenté en alguno de los últimos posts, me extrajeron las cordales, muelas del juicio…estas últimas que a uno le salen. Fue el viernes, para ser más precisa y hoy – lunes – me encuentro bastante hinchada y miserable por el dolor. 

No me gusta ir por la vida quejándome de mis dramas personales – mentira, me encanta, sólo que no suelo hacerlo público – pero todo esto ha resultado ser una tragicomedia dental. Me sacaron de una sola vez las 4 muelas y un dientito especial de dinosaurio que, según el médico, solo le sale a la gente genial – no me importa si eso último no lo creen, ja! -. La operación fue bastante rápida, no muy traumática y el doctor fue muy amable, sin embargo, igual uno se hincha, babea y no puede comer. ¿Leyeron eso ultimo? No puedes comer. Bueno, solamente cosas líquidas y semisólidas frías los primeros días.

Además, como tuvieron que partir una de las muelas para sacarla, me hinché particularmente más de ese lado de la cara (el izquierdo) y parezco una cosa rara deforme.

Por eso quería publicar más cosillas antes de la operación, pero en Caracas soy la persona más aburrida de la tierra y no salgo casi. En pocos días espero estar mejor, especialmente porque la semana que viene regreso a Buenos Aires.

Por lo pronto, les dejo unos dibujitos que estuve haciendo estas vacaciones, producto del ocio y la inspiración que da la musiquita bonita. (También están en mi tumblr).

Espero que pasen una linda semana y crucen sus dedos por mi pronta recuperación J

Hey everybody! Well, this entrance is to tell you a little bit about my latest absence on the blog. I mentioned in one of the last posts that I’d be having my wisdom teeth removed – last Friday, to be exact -.  Today it’s Monday and my current situation is pain, swelling and misery. 

I don’t usually like to complain about my personal dramas – bs, I love it…but I don’t often do it in public – but this whole thing has turned out to be a dental tragicomedy. The dentist removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth and a little extra dinosaur tooth that he said only existed in really cool people – if you don’t want to believe that last part, I don’t care haha -. The surgery was very quick and overall painless and the doctor was super nice but still, there’s the constant drooling, the swelling and you can’t eat. Did you read that last bit? You can’t eat. Well, you can only eat liquid and semisolid cold food for the first days.

Besides, the Dr. had to fraction one of the teeth to get it out and that side of my face (the left one) got particularly huge and I look like a deformed blob.

That’s the main reason why I wanted to post more stuff before the surgery, but the truth is that here in Caracas I’m one of the most boring people on earth and don’t go out a lot. I hope to get better in the next few days, especially because I’m going back to Buenos Aires next week.

Esta semana quiero arrancarla con todas las pilas puestas (así luego me ataque la flojera). Las historias de Alicia son unas de mis favoritas y cuando vi esta camisa/remera en Zucca no pude resistirme a comprarla. Tiene una ilustración hermosa y además está hecha de un material que parece seda, súper suave y bonito. Decidí combinarla con los leggings símil cuero porque aquí el clima me lo permite en este momento y me gustó el contraste de las distintas texturas de las telas.

En los próximos días deberían extraerme las cordales, así que posiblemente me ausentaré un poco del blog. Espero dejarles suficientes posts esta semana para que se entretengan J

I’m starting this week with all the batteries on (even if I get lazy afterwards). Alice’s stories have always been of my favourites and when I saw this shirt in Zucca I could not resist and I bought it. It has a beautiful illustration and the fabric is very nice and soft, silk like. I paired with my faux leather leggings, here in Caracas I can wear them because the weather allows me to haha, besides I liked how the textures of the different fabrics looked together.

In the next few days I should be getting my wisdom teeth removed, so I’ll probably be absent here on the blog. I’ll try to leave enough posts for you before that J

NYE...Finally!

¡Mejor tarde que nunca! Finalmente tengo las fotos de la noche de año viejo. Pueden ver que opté por una de las tendencias más utilizadas: dorado y negro. Realmente no fue intencional, pero como les conté en otro post, últimamente he estado utilizando bastante dorado y con negro me parece que se ve genial y elegante. Lo otro destacable es el hecho de que estoy utilizando tacos. No suelo hacerlo porque en Buenos Aires se camina muchísimo y en general nunca he sido chica de zapatos altos, no porque no me gusten, sino por un tema de comodidad. Sin embargo, acá en Caracas me movilizo más en auto y siempre es lindo utilizar tacones en ocasiones especiales – además, estos los conseguí muy baratos en Seven’s -.

Adicionalmente, les comparto también fotos de lo que utilizaron mis primitas, ya que también estaban muy guapas y con atuendos muy lindos.

**No me enloquecen las fotos con flash, pero era de noche, así que no había otra opción.

Better late than never! I finally have the pictures from NYE. You can see that I wore a combination that has been very trendy: gold and black. It wasn’t intentional, but as I told you in a previous post, I’ve been really into wearing golden pieces lately. Besides I think that they look awesome with black and very elegant and stylish. The other thing that I think it’s worth mentioning is the fact that I’m wearing high heels. I don’t usually wear them because I walk a lot in Buenos Aires and I’m not a high-heel-kind-of-girl on a regular basis, not because I don’t like them, it’s just a matter of comfort. However, here in Caracas I do move around in car mostly and it’s nice to wear heels on special occasions – I also found these ones for a very reasonable price in a store called Seven’s -.

I also wanted to share with you photos from my little cousin’s looks. They were both really pretty and had lovely outfits.

**I’m not crazy about pictures taken with flash, but it was nighttime so we really didn’t have a choice.
